Professional Services Developer

Location:
Home Office–New York

Job Purpose:

In this position, you will use your functional and technical expertise, along with the latest technology and tools, to support implementations of Spectrum’s web–operational HRIS software application. You will work with our clients and Professional Services Consultants to: determine business requirements, write technical specifications and assist with proposals and estimates.

Summary of responsibilities, duties, tasks and essential functions performed:

You will work by yourself or in a team environment to develop easy to moderate solutions for the client that meets their specifications. Typical work performed: software modifications, system configurations, electronic data conversions and testing, debugging, and documentation.

In order to provide a successful implementation experience, you will be responsible for: manage multiple projects with shifting priorities, communicate effectively with clients and internal resources, maintain individual project schedule, enter and invoice time spent on client projects, create high quality deliverables and meet project deadlines. This position requires that you travel between 5–15%.

Summary of Job Qualifications:

This position requires that you have the following qualifications: background in business application software development or have several years prior experience in development or maintenance of web based software applications, effective oral and written communication skills, prior experience in one or more of the following languages: HTML, Transact SQL, ASP, ASP.NET, JScript, Visual Basic, C#, experience in Microsoft development environments, strong debugging and troubleshooting skills and self motivated and able to work effectively on independent or team projects. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

Must possess mobility to work in a standard office setting and to use standard office equipment, including a computer, stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptions, must be able to sit 95% of the time; vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech to communicate in person and over the telephone; and will reach and or type 90% of the time.

Quality Assurance Analyst

Location:Colorado

Job Purpose:

Generates and conducts formal tests of products to ensure they perform as specified related to functionality and useability.

Summary of responsibilities, duties, tasks and essential functions performed:

Under general supervision, performs formal tests of products using existing test scripts and specifications to ensure that systems meet quality standards and conform to requirements. Analyzes facts and circumstances, recognizing the need for action and takes constructive steps to resolve problems within the limits of the established boundaries. Writes Test Scripts which outline specific testing. Writes Test Reports which identify results of all reviews and tests performed. Generates defect and or enchancement issues for review and correction by Development. Reviews design specifications for clarity, completeness, consistency, general content and user friendliness. Reviews user documentation for accuracy, completeness and consistency. Reports discrepancies to Documentation Writers. Tests media returned from the duplicator to ensure the accuracy of the duplication process. Maintains QA environment through weekly build installation, server configuration, and technical operating environment for the product suite. Executes expansive product installation/configuration tests in multiple operating environments using defined technical operationg specifications. Provides technical support for beta test sites and internal Spectrum departments.

Summary of Job Qualifications:

This position requires a bachelor’s degree with a level of proficiency usually acquired in 2–3 years work experience in software testing, programming or information science. Consideration may be given to relevant professional level experience as an offset to the formal education requirement. Must have intermediate knowledge of computers, programming and databases with appropriate technical knowledge of Windows and other software packages. Experience with Spectrum products is highly desirable. Must be accurate and thorough, with good attention to detail. Must be analytical and organized to develop quality control tests. Must have knowledge of Software Quality Assurance practices and the ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities. Must have patience and organizational skills to test, retest and record problems and ensure that they have been corrected. Proficient writing and interpersonal skills are needed to gather information and communicate results of work to associates.
