Providing the vision and leadership for Spectrum is a highly experienced executive team:

James E. Spoor

Chairman of the Board

Jim is founder and chairman of Spectrum. Prior to forming Spectrum in 1984, Jim had a very successful and broad ranging 25–year HR career, including executive–level responsibility for global HR operations.

Jim has served on several business, professional, and philanthropic boards of directors, including IHRIM (International Association for Human Resource Information Management). In addition, he has authored a number of articles for professional handbooks and textbooks and has been a frequent speaker and panelist on diverse topics including HR and HR information systems. He graduated from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Industrial).


Sybll K. Romley

President and CEO

Sybll started with Spectrum in June 1987 as a sales representative. Since then, she has held management and executive roles in product development, project management, and sales and marketing. She became president and CEO in 2006. With her extensive experience in HR and HR systems, Sybll stays involved in guiding the direction of our products while leading Spectrum. Sybll sits on a number of boards, including IHRIM (International Association for Human Resource Information Management, Inc.). Prior to joining Spectrum, Sybll was in human resources at Price Waterhouse in Los Angeles. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Diplomacy and World Affairs from Occidental College.


Matthew N. Keitlen

Executive Vice President and COO

Matt joined the company in June 1992 as a Client Services consultant, became the Manager of Client Services in 1993, and was appointed to Vice President of Services in 1999. He has held his current role as Exceutive Vice President and COO since fall of 2006. Prior to joining the company, Matt was a Service Manager for Bank of America Business Services where he helped design, develop, customize and implement Bank of America’s version of Spectrum’s DOS–based HR products. Matt’s prior experience includes working as a programmer for Treasure Chest Advertising Company. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio State University and an MBA in Management from California State University.


J. Mark Sherock

Vice President and CFO

Mark joined Spectrum in July 1999 and was promoted to his current role in January 2001. Prior to joining Spectrum, Mark held controllership and finance positions with both public and privately held investment firms operating primarily in the real estate and finance industries. Mark obtained his Certified Public Accountant’s license from the State of Texas while employed with the international accounting firm Arthur Andersen. He is a summa cum laude graduate of Youngstown State University where he received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.


Joseph D. Romley

Chief Administrative Officer and General Counsel

Joe joined Spectrum in October 1992 and has held executive roles in administration, finance, and human resources. Joe is currently responsible for Spectrum’s legal needs, human resources, network services, insured benefits, risk management, and facilities. Prior to joining Spectrum, Joe was an Associate Attorney at Jennings, Strouss & Salmon, a Phoenix law firm, and a Commercial Banking Officer at Bank of America in Los Angeles. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (cum laude) in Economics from Occidental College, where he also received Phi Beta Kappa honors. Joe earned his Juris Doctor (cum laude) from Arizona State University.


Lori L. Ericson

Vice President of Product Planning and Development

Lori joined the company in January 1997 in the Quality Assurance department and became the Product Manager for HRVantage® and iVantage® in 2001. She now manages the Development, Documentation, Quality Assurance and Product Manager functions. Prior to joining the company, Lori was the Director of HR for a Denver based healthcare facility and served as an HR Specialist for a division of Kroger foods. Lori received her Bachelor of Arts with an emphasis in Human Resource Management.


Matthew A. Flynn

Vice President of Strategic Technology and Exploitation

Matt has been with Spectrum since December 1991. During his tenure with Spectrum, he has worked in product support, sales, quality assurance, and product management. Matt is responsible for keeping Spectrum’s products on track with technology by working closely with Microsoft® and our other business partners. Prior to joining Spectrum, Matt was a Human Resource Manager in the airline services industry for five years. He is currently a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) and holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (cum laude) from Regis College.
